Haliburton Scout Reserve: The history and memories of a special place
2011 Rotary Parade!
Rotary Club goes above and beyond
By Darren Lum (From the Haliburton Echo)
This year’s Rotary Summer Carnival parade included 20 floats, several antique cars from the Haliburton Time Travellers, and three bands: the Haliburton Highlands Silver Flutes, the Haliburton Highlands Pipes and Drums and the Kawartha Kavalier Drum and Bugle Corps. There were hundreds, three and four rows deep, along the parade route that started on Maple Street, then to Highland Street and ended at York Street on Wednesday, Aug. 3. The winner of the best commercial float was Haliburton Tim-br Mart, the best boys’ and/or girls’ group float was Youth Unlimited and the best non-profit float was the Haliburton Scout Reserve.
